Privacy policy

Last updated: April 3, 2026

Mobex is committed to handling your personal data with care and transparency. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We will never sell your data to third parties.

Who we are

Mobex is a UK-based direct-to-consumer brand selling premium charging accessories at mobex.tech. For the purposes of data protection law, Mobex is the data controller responsible for your personal information.

You can reach us at Support@mobex.tech with any data-related queries.

What data we collect

We collect personal data in the following circumstances:

  • When you place an order — name, email address, delivery address, and payment information (processed securely by Shopify Payments; we do not store card details)
  • When you contact us — your name, email address, and the content of your message
  • When you subscribe to our newsletter — your email address
  • Automatically when you visit our website — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on site, collected via cookies and analytics tools

How we use your data

We use your personal data only for the purposes it was collected:

  • To process and fulfil your order, including sending dispatch and delivery updates
  • To respond to enquiries and provide customer support
  • To send you order-related communications (these are not marketing and cannot be opted out of)
  • To send you marketing emails, if you have opted in — you can unsubscribe at any time
  • To improve our website and understand how visitors use it, using anonymised analytics data
  • To comply with legal obligations, including tax and accounting requirements

Legal basis for processing

Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR, we process your data on the following legal bases:

  • Contract — to fulfil orders you have placed with us
  • Legitimate interests — to improve our services and communicate with you about your orders
  • Consent — for marketing emails, where you have explicitly opted in
  • Legal obligation — where we are required to retain data by law (e.g. tax records)

Who we share your data with

We share your data only with third parties who help us operate our business. These include:

  • Shopify — our e-commerce platform, which processes orders and stores customer data on our behalf
  • Shipping carriers — your name and address are shared with our delivery partner to fulfil your order
  • Payment processors — payment data is handled securely by Shopify Payments and Stripe
  • Email marketing platforms — if you have subscribed to our newsletter, your email is stored with our email service provider

All third parties we work with are required to handle your data securely and in accordance with applicable data protection law.

International transfers

Some of our third-party service providers (including Shopify) are based outside the UK and EU. Where data is transferred internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

How long we keep your data

We retain your data only for as long as necessary:

  • Order data is retained for 7 years to comply with UK tax and accounting obligations
  • Marketing email subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe
  • Customer support correspondence is retained for 2 years
  • Website analytics data is retained in anonymised form

Cookies

Our website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to make the site function correctly and to understand how it is used. We use:

  • Essential cookies — required for the site to work (e.g. your shopping cart)
  • Analytics cookies — to understand traffic and behaviour on the site in anonymised form
  • Marketing cookies — only if you have consented, used to measure the effectiveness of advertising

You can manage your cookie preferences via the cookie banner on your first visit, or through your browser settings at any time.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Request deletion of your data, where we are not legally required to retain it
  • Object to or restrict how we process your data
  • Withdraw consent for marketing at any time (via the unsubscribe link in any email)
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you are in the UK, or your local supervisory authority if you are in the EU

To exercise any of these rights, email us at Support@mobex.tech. We will respond within 30 days.

EU representative

As a UK-based business selling to EU customers, we are in the process of appointing an EU Responsible Person as required under GDPR. Details will be updated here once confirmed.
